The awards and certificate presentation ceremony held in conjunction with the Ruhuna Innovation and Invention Exhibition was held at the Rabindranath Tagore Hall of the University of Ruhuna, Matara on the morning of 17-12-2024.

Approximately 125 students from schools in the Southern Province were awarded, and inventors representing the open sector, university sector and commercial sector were awarded.

The awards presentation ceremony, held under the patronage of the Southern Province Governor, Bandula Harischandra, was jointly organized by the Southern Provincial Industrial Development Authority, the University of Ruhuna, the Sri Lanka Innovation Commission, and the Southern Provincial Education Department.

In order to encourage the inventors of the Southern Province, new products were presented in the school section, open section, and university section, and an exhibition of those designs was held recently. The winners of the competition were recognized. The best new designers were also selected.
