Ridiyagama Fish Breeding Unit
The rising global population and increased fish consumption necessitate sustainable aquaculture practices in every country. Sri Lanka faces a pressing need for better management of its fisheries resources to meet the domestic demand for fish. Expanding local fish production is the only viable solution to this issue.

Thalunna Agriculture and Livestock Farm
The Thalunna Agriculture and Livestock Farm was handed over to our authority by the Southern Province Department of Animal Production on August 1, 2019. By 2020, a poultry house with a capacity of approximately 800 broiler chicks was established, and operations have continued successfully up to 2023. The farm currently cultivates both short-term and long-term crops, and considering the soil and climatic conditions of the area, coconut, wood apple and banana cultivation has been widely expanded.
Our Past Projects
In September 2021, a new project for organic fertilizer production was launched. The farm produces and packages various fertilizers, including cow dung, chicken manure, biochar, Goat manure, and compost.
A new poultry house was constructed with a capacity of around 400 birds.
