Industrial Development in the Southern Province

The prime objective for the establishment of the SPIDA is to promote, support, encourage and facilitate to the industrial development within the Southern Province with emphasis on the small and medium scale industries in order to develop national economy. The SPIDA is one of the major Authorities of southern province which sharing the responsibility of providing skills, technology, and finance and guided lines to the individuals to enable them to start and develop industrial initiatives in Southern Province to cope up with modern market demands both nationally and internationally.

SPIDA currently functions under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Production and Development, Environment Affairs, Rural industries, Electricity, Rural & Estate Infrastructure Development. Main office of SPIDA is currently situated at No. 349/ 1/2, Matara Road, Katugoda, Galle, Sri Lanka.

Our Mission

In order to provide significant contribution to the national economy from southern province industrial sector, utilize resources in the province, coordinate other institutes in the field, provide efficient, fair and friendly service to the small, medium and household industrialists in the province by policy implementing, strengthening and facilitating.
